An Evening of Remembrance

Circle of Life Hospice 3rd Annual Believe Event

This past Tuesday, downtown Reno was transformed into a place of healing, reflection, and love as Circle of Life Hospice hosted its 3rd Annual Believe Event—Candle Lighting Remembrance. The evening brought together families, friends, and community members to honor and remember loved ones who have passed, creating a powerful atmosphere of unity and compassion.

Set against the backdrop of the iconic Believe sculpture in Reno’s City Plaza, the event was a touching reminder of the lasting impact our loved ones have on our hearts. The soft glow of hundreds of candles flickering in the evening light made for an intimate and moving tribute, as participants gathered to reflect on cherished memories and offer support to one another.

The Believe Event has grown into a special tradition for Circle of Life Hospice, and this year’s ceremony was nothing short of extraordinary. Despite the challenges that many are facing in today’s world, the event went off smoothly, thanks to the dedication of our staff, volunteers, and the outpouring of support from the local community.

Throughout the evening, we witnessed profound moments of healing and connection. Attendees shared heartfelt stories of love and loss, finding solace in the shared experience of remembrance. As each candle was lit, a wave of warmth spread through the crowd, symbolizing hope, faith, and the enduring legacy of those we have lost.

One of the highlights of the evening was the reading of names, where participants had the opportunity to honor their loved ones aloud. It was a beautiful and emotional moment as each name echoed through the plaza, serving as a reminder that while our loved ones may no longer be with us physically, their memory remains vibrant and alive in our hearts.

In addition to the candle lighting, the event featured soothing music and community resources. Many participants expressed how much the event meant to them, with one attendee sharing, “Being here tonight has given me a sense of peace and comfort I didn’t know I needed. It’s a beautiful way to honor my mother’s memory.”

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended and supported this year’s Believe Event. Your presence helped make the evening so meaningful, not just for you and your families, but for all of us. We would also like to acknowledge the many volunteers and local businesses who contributed to the event’s success, helping us bring this vision to life.

The Believe Event is more than just a candle lighting ceremony—it’s a reminder that we are not alone in our grief. Together, we can find comfort in the shared experiences of love, loss, and hope for the future.
